How Do I get my MD Carry License

In the state of Maryland you must complete a 16 hour Carry Class offered by a MD Qualified Handgun Instructor. To complete the course, you must be at least 18 years of age, be able to exhibit safe firearms handling, and pass a live fire qualification at a shooting range. Once you completed the course you must also complete a Live Scan fingerprint & background check at a certified Maryland fingerprinting location, take a passport style photo and complete an online application for the MD Wear & Carry Handgun Permit, on the MSP Firearms Licensing Portal. Once you have done so, correctly, about 60 days later you will receive your permit in the mail, and then at that time you may legally begin to carry a loaded firearm in the state of Maryland.
